HOLIDAY LIGHTING
Holiday Lighting Policies & Procedures
Clear expectations make for a well-planned season. These proposed policies explain the process from property review to removal.
01 · Booking and payment
Your quote identifies the deposit and balance; the proposed deposit is 50%, with the balance due after installation and walkthrough. A requested date is confirmed separately after the final agreement and applicable cancellation requirements are completed. We do not start contracted service during a statutory cancellation period.
02 · Scheduling and weather
November through mid-December is the proposed installation season. We communicate weather-related changes and arrange a safe alternative date. We do not install in unsafe conditions or charge a customer-requested change fee for a delay we cause.
03 · Prepare the property
- Arrange authorized access, any required HOA approval and an accessible suitable exterior power supply.
- Clear vehicles, decorations and obstacles; keep pets and bystanders out of the work zone.
- Disclose known roof, gutter, finish, outlet, gate and landscaping concerns.
- Complete agreed gutter or other chemical cleaning before lighting goes up.
04 · Installation and electrical supply
The written scope identifies a suitable removable clip-based attachment method. Nails, staples, screws and electrical-system alterations are excluded. We test the display, set the agreed timer and complete a walkthrough. Electrical defects or new outlets require an appropriately qualified electrician.
05 · Ownership
On a seasonal lease, Dutch Pride retains its equipment and removes and stores it as agreed. On a purchase, paid-for delivered equipment belongs to the customer. On a customer-owned installation, existing lights remain yours and must pass suitability checks. Product failures in customer-owned lights are distinct from our workmanship responsibilities.
06 · Seasonal service
Contact 513-278-8781 about an outage. We aim to respond within 48 hours; repair timing depends on access, conditions and the problem. Routine failures and normal seasonal weather affecting company-supplied lights are covered within the written service period. Extraordinary damage and non-covered customer-owned product failures are reviewed before work; a proposed $75 visit charge applies only if disclosed and approved. Covered workmanship corrections are not charged again.
07 · Removal and storage
The quote sets a January removal window and identifies who stores the lights and through what date. Discuss early or extended display requests in advance. A customer-requested extension past January 31 may have a $75 fee only if quoted and approved; it does not apply to our delay. We inventory equipment at removal and confirm handoff or storage arrangements.
08 · Cancellations and refunds
All applicable statutory cancellation and refund rights remain intact. For covered Ohio home-solicitation transactions, the completed required notices and waiting period apply; no holiday-deadline waiver is assumed. After statutory rights, cancellation more than seven days before the agreed installation receives a full refund of any deposit for unperformed work. A later cancellation does not automatically forfeit the deposit: only agreed, documented and legally recoverable costs after reasonable mitigation may be retained. If we cannot perform, payments for unperformed work are refunded; other legal rights remain.
09 · Property protection
We document visible existing conditions and review attachment surfaces and access. Lighting insurance coverage must be verified for the actual work before accepting installation commitments. Please report concerns promptly so we can investigate. A reporting request is not a 48-hour cutoff on your legal rights, and no policy releases us from responsibility for our negligent work.
10 · Photos, reviews and promotions
Promotional photography requires separate affirmative permission. Declining does not change your price. Honest reviews are welcome independently of any discount; no review is required. Holiday lighting is excluded from PRIDE250 and does not count toward its threshold. Any optional cleaning-bundle discount is separately itemized and does not stack with other offers.
11 · Renewal and later fees
There is no automatic renewal or automatic charge. A proposed renew-by-March-1 incentive must identify the new season's scope, price and discount in a separate agreement. Late-booking requests after December 1 may carry a $100 rush fee only when quoted and accepted in advance; dates remain subject to availability.
